Medieval mural painting with legend of Saint Wenceslas in 14th century Thesis presents medieval mural paintings with the illustrations of life and murder of Saint Wenceslas from 14th century. Thesis is focused on summary of the topic literature and afterwards iconographical and formal description of five medieval mural cycles in Karlštejn castle, Dobroměřice, Černochov, Žďár u Blovic and House At the Stone Bell in Prague.
Bohemian Rome

Cultural elements which originated from Rome, broke through into many cultures of the world. Their influence also affected cultures of central Europe - the Czech culture being one of them. The theme of this work is the analysis of the fundamental knots of the Czech culture and the culture presented by Rome. The main attention is paid to the more general and oldest themes mentioning the theoretical concesequences concerning culturology. The first part of this work is devoted to the oldest evidence of any relationship between the two locations. Following that, the chapter about Marobudov, which is the former citizen of Rome, who enriched his empire with elements of ancient culture. Cyril and Metoděj - a famous pair of Czech statehood establishers. This work is focused on the two brothers trip and stay in Rome, being a part of their missions success. Some of the famous Czech saints St. Václav and St. Vojtěch had a very warm relationship with Rome, which projected into their lives - the way of thinking and actions, which significantly affected the Czech culture. Two chapters are therefore dedicated to the mentioned figures, describing evidence of their relationship with the municipality. The childhood and youth of St. Václav and St. Vojtěch in the Czech Legends

This bachelor thesis deals with the childhood and youth of Saint Wenceslaus and Saint Adalbert (Vojtech) in Czech legends. It also describes their perception in Old Church Slavonic and Latin hagiography. The thesis observes the continuity as well as diversity of motives in the individual works. It also shows historic times in which the two saints lived, their destiny and deeds and focuses on their adolescence and relevant dating. The whole thesis continuously confronts the legends with the pieces of knowledge of literary historians and anthropologists with the aim to confirm or disprove the truth of Saint Wenceslaus and Saint Vojtech hagiography.
